This is our story...

Being both motorcycle riders with a love for travelling, we talked about touring the world on bikes about two years ago.

After looking into logistics/constraints and places we wanted to explore, we decided to tour the Americas from Alaska, USA to Ushuaia, Argentina.

We also wanted to have the same motorcycle to simplify maintenance, and find something we would both feel comfortable riding. We ended up chosing the Suzuki V-Strom 650, a 07' grey one for Chad and a 05' red one for Caroline.

We left for our journey on 6/14/09 from Washington, DC and arrived in Ushuaia, Argentina on 4/19/10. Click here and read below to see what it took us to make it to Ushuaia.

On 6/9/10, we flew back to the United States almost exactly a year after we had left for this journey.

Ready, set, almost gone...

It is hard to believe after all this planning and anticipation but it looks like it is ready to happen: we are leaving tomorrow! The entire house is empty, except for our bed, and all the belongings we decided to keep fit in our pick up truck. It is all being driven by Chad right now to his Dad's place, who will keep it for us while we are gone.

Feels like an end to a chapter of our lives but in reality, it is the beginning of it all. The beginning of a motorcycle adventure we decided to undertake about 2 years ago. We are one day away from the start of an amazing and incredibly excited journey and we can't wait to share it with all of you guys.

Tomorrow afternoon we are hitting the road. Chad's mum, Nancy, and her husband Mike have driven all the way from North Carolina to send us on the road. We are so grateful for them to be here with us and they have been fantastic helping us out today wit the last preperations. First stop: Lonaconing, MD to stay a couple of days with Chad's dad, Stan.

  3. Have a great trip. So what state/country does Chad's license plate on the truck represent?
