After Teresa and Lucrecia dropped us off at the Buenos Aires airport, we had an uneventful and smooth flight to Charlotte, NC. It is sort of a cultural shock to be back in the USA but we got the warmest welcome we could have hoped for from Chad's family. They had a huge Welcome Banner and Chad's Mom even had put together a welcome basked for us with all sorts of beauty and cleaning products. Guess we needed them after a year on the road:) Now, we are just enjoying time with the family. We had an amazing experience and are still so marvelled by all the generous people that we met on the road. We hope that we will be able to give back as much as we received on this trip. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Thank you to our family that have been so helpful while we were on the road, thank you to all the people we have met and that have shared their house, a meal or time with us, thank you to everyone that has read our blog.

ReplyDeleteHi kids,
ReplyDeleteNice to see you are back home, at least on this side of the atlantic sea !
We have already spoken together today, but cannot wait to see you in real.
Congratulations and thanks to the family for this big and warm welcome we see on the picture.
You could not have dreamed of a more spectacular greeting.
Your big adventure is about to end, and you and us will remember this fantastic time for a while.
Another adventure is about to begin for you. It is just called....life

Chad and Caroline,
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! I've loved reading the blog following all of your adventures. Thanks so much for keeping up with it for the whole trip, it's been a great read, and I'm sure you will enjoy looking back on everything you wrote. Hope you can make it out to softball soon and recount some of you tales.
Cheers,
Allen
What a blessing it was to spend an evening with you at your Mom's house the day you returned to the USA. You made your incredible journey safely and discovered so many new friends, foods, locations, etc. A life time of memories. You really must write a book - many of us were living the experiences through your writings. Who knows who you might inspire to take an incredible journey of their own. Love you,
ReplyDeleteWell done. How long will it be before you are riding motorcycles again? The stories aren't the same without them.
ReplyDeleteDear Chad and Caroline, I enjoyed checking into your blog from time to time to see where you had landed and to read about the many incredidle sights, sounds, people, food and obstacles you encountered along the way. Wow, what an incredible journey! Congratulations on fulfilling your dream. Warm welcome back to the states and all the best on where the road takes you next.

Hi Caroline and Chad,
ReplyDeleteI ride a V-Strom too, and that is how I came upon your blog originally. You must have ridden through my town of Quesnel, British Columbia Canada on your way down to Vancouver. So I have checked in to read your latest updates very regularly over this past six or eight months, and have been amazed at what you have seen and done. Thanks for taking the time to bring us along with you on your adventures. I just cannot imagine how you could sell your wonderful V-Strom steeds, and leave them behind! It must have been difficult. I've loved reading about your journey, and want to thank you and wish you well in your new life's adventures.
Danielle
Thank you so much for sharing your adventure!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back guys, what an experience. Can't wait to read the book! I hope to take an adventure some day.
